The Town of Wytheville is receiving numerous inquiries regarding the need to boil water for the residents on the Town of Wytheville water system. If you receive a water bill from the Town of Wytheville there is, currently, NO need for you to boil your water for any use. The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) has NOT issued a notice to the Town requiring or requesting Wytheville’s water customers to do so. If the situation were to change, the Town of Wytheville will notify its customers of the boil notice via the Town’s website, Facebook page, Three Rivers Media radio, notices posted in the lobby of the Municipal Building, etc.

We would like to remind all water users that we are still asking for all non-essential water use to be curtailed as we recover from the weather event. Due to the Columbus Day holiday, the refuse collection in the Town of Wytheville for Monday, October 14, 2024, will be made on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. The normal collection scheduled for Tuesday, October 15, 2024, will be made on that day. 

The Town of Wytheville’s Recycling Center located at 1025 South Third Street will not have an attendant on duty on Monday, October 14, 2024, due to the Columbus Day holiday. The attendant will return to assist citizens on Tuesday, October 14, 2024. Please note that when an attendant is not on duty, the Recycling Center's gates are closed, and items cannot be dropped off.
